Dr. Janene Donarski, PhD LP is the prior founder and owner of Family Therapy & Development Centers, Inc., currently under ownership of Edwin Vergara LPC as Donarski Center for Mental Health Counseling (DCMHC). She continues on supervising and seeing clients in therapy.
She is the proud mother of two amazing children, and has joined the honored position of Grandma ‘Nana’ and in her spare time, she loves to spend her hours on the lake and with her grandchild, watching her grow and develop. She is an art collector, and also enjoys creating art, reading and crocheting.
Dr. Donarski is practicing as a Licensed Psychologist (LP) specializing in Neuropsychology. She has an integrated approach to mental health treatment, utilizing multiple methodology techniques. Instead of utilizing one treatment method, Dr. Donarski will tailor her therapeutic approach to your particular needs by introducing strategies and methods from two or more types of therapy that have proven best-practice approach with evidence-based research. You as an individual and your concerns are viewed through a holistic lens, and interventions are selected to help you to achieve more meaningful results in therapy.
For instance, Dr. Donarski may utilize cognitive behavioral therapy to help identify, challenge, and develop healthier thinking patterns while also applying techniques from a mindfulness-based approach to assist you in managing stress or emotional discomfort. Techniques will be brought forward from various methodologies such as Neuroscience- informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (N-CBT), Exposure therapy, Mindfulness Based Interventions (MBI), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFT), Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT) and interoceptive techniques.
Dr. Donarski has specialized training in anxiety and trauma treatment, working with individuals with disabilities (e.g., vision deficits and cancer care), Veterans and Military families, dementia care, and she holds certifications as a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional and Evergreen Certified Dementia Care Specialist. Dr. Donarski has also worked with multiple attorneys in forensic psychological forums to assist individuals in legal matters.
In addition to her career in psychotherapy, Dr. Donarski is engaged in a number of other professional endeavors.
